We had a fantastic experience at Wapalapam! Their chilli prawns are hands down the best we’ve ever had. The atmosphere is great, simple yet stylish, and everything is super clean. The owner and the staff are really friendly and welcoming. Plus, they have an excellent selection of music, which adds to the great vibe. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Mauritius! We mainly wanted something to drink and just 2 small desserts. The delivery for the colas took 20 minutes, the piña colada took about 25 minutes. Coffee was only delivered after repeated requests, about 45 minutes. The piña colada didn't taste good, something in it was visibly spoiled.
The final price on the invoice was roughly the same as our own invoice (600 Rp higher), but an additional 300 Rp was added that was not shown on the invoice.
Not a nice experience.

The food was excellent! Had 3 starters... the white fish ceviche, the chili chicken wings and the chili prawns... each was great. My wife had the 500g fish (2 fishes) with garlic butter and that was also excellent. The service was fast and pleasant... all in all a great stay. Thanks

We liked it a lot, everything we tried was delicious, the ceviche, the Octopus salad, the very good fresh whole fish, the curries, the wine recommendations… perfect! We ate there 3 days in a row.

Was excited to get off the resort for a night and try a more “local” restaurant for dinner. Food was okay - not terrible and not great. Service is a bit abrupt and not very warm. They just kind of go “what do you want” and don’t explain much if you ask a question. If you have a small baby, the baby seat is for older toddlers. A small baby will slide right through the seat, so we had to hold him and eat in shifts. The baby seat issue is more of a parent issue (poor planning by us) and not the restaurants fault I guess. Again, food was average. The restaurant looks nice (surfer vibe) next to the mountain with a nice view if you sit outside on the side.

A place well known by tourists and recommended by the establishments with dishes that are a reinterpretation of local dishes for tourists.
The food is quality and is well prepared and served. The dishes are very abundant.
We ate rice with veal and fish fillet cooked in banana leaf, recommended by the staff. Both delicious.
Prices are slightly higher than average.
Advised.

Lovely atmosphere and the food is amazing. Good sized portions.
Lovely staff too
I fell in love with the flourless choc cake as I eat gluten free. It is SO good.
Would love the recipe if anyone is reading my review from Wapalapam.

You can pay by card and I recommend leaving a tip as the staff are fantastic.
If you don’t finish your plateful you can take away the rest. Perfect

A stylish and clean restaurant, an ideal stop on the way to the beach at Le Morne. We tried the homemade iced tea, calamari, fish with fried rice and finally the ice cream - everything was fine and very tasty. The service was nice, hardworking and really tried to make us happy. I definitely recommend a visit!

Great little place in Le Morne. We loved it so much we ate here 3 nights consecutively. The food is nice and fresh. The service is on point. Drinks were great. Loved the decor, all wooden carved tables and chairs from local business. The fish in banana leaf is a must try. Great experience overall. Would highly recommend.

Drove there all the way from the hotel with 4 kids after we’d checked opening hours on google maps to be told that they are closed. When I asked if they could maybe just make some snacks for us they refused and send us away. Very disappointing experience.

As always, divine squid and spicy shrimp. I didn’t like the seafood pasta because there was a lot of pasta and it was unsalted; the ratio of sauce, filling and pasta was not correct. We've been visiting this cafe for several years!

Worth going there, easy to access if you’re staying at Paradise Beachcomber! We had one of the best meals out of our 2 week holiday in Mauritius. The food is great quality and also at better price vs hotels.

Disappointment compared to our expectations. The food is excellent and plentiful but the service is not up to par at all. Server completely out of order. Long wait, starters served with the main courses... and dishes ordered "forgotten" but still added to the bill. Perhaps by reducing the volume of the "background" music and adding 1 more server in the evening the result would be better...?

Management needs to be up-skilled. Heard great reviews about the food but when we got there we got told to wait 30 minutes to be seated as the big tables were taken which wasn’t an issue as we didn’t book , long story short we sat at the bar waiting to be seated for an hour only for 3 tables to arrive before us (same table size) be seated and served before us (sat at non-reserved tables). Once we were seated we waited almost 25 minutes before someone even checked on our table. Eventually we left. Didn’t seem to have any management on site.

An absolutely delicious eaterie serving local fare between La Gaulette and Le Mourne. The prawn and eggplant curry was outstanding alongside the dorada curry. Really good ceviche too, alongside a variety of spicy cocktails. Friendly staff, welcoming vibes post or pre beach day.

In their octopus salad, they use mostly lettuce which is very uncommon. And the octopus was not fresh as well, despite i asked before ordering. It was very chewy like rubber. You have better place for sea food in Mauritius.

The food was decent, but some staff spoke very poor or no English at all, and the service left much to be desired. I had to get up myself to address a complaint because the waitress was busy on WhatsApp. When we voiced our complaint, she rudely said that we would have to pay the full amount because of it. The reaction was very negative, as we were also told we should have reported it earlier and eaten less of the dish. Why not simply replace half of it? Unfortunately, we couldn’t get hold of any waiter beforehand. Fresh juices and some other drinks were unavailable on two separate days. Plates were occasionally cleared away before we had finished eating. To top it off, we had to ask for the bill three times before it was finally brought to us. Overall, we will not return to this restaurant as we feel the price and quality of service do not match.

Arrived for lunch after a walk at Le Morne. Well received, but when the cards were given to us everything was in English!!??? The question arises... tourist trap? Looking at the prices there is no doubt about it. I think the people who have lunch here have never left their hotel to have a means of comparison.
We had two beers and arrived at the bill 750rs!!! Even in the north of the island restaurants don't charge this price!!

We stopped to eat because there were almost no restaurants on this side. And what a surprise, 2 beers for the price of a full meal with drinks elsewhere on the island. There are still normal who are not pigeons. To be reserved for guests of nearby 5-star hotels...cards only in English and prices increased by 50% in 4 years.

We called at Wapalapam once for lunch and again for dinner while in the Le Mourne area. Both times we found food delicious. My partner is Coeliac and they were very helpful making clear what was Gluten Free and safe to eat on the menu, which was most of it.

Lovely experience here I’m gluten free (celiac) and found a few good reviews here, we ate here for lunch it was very busy but they managed to get us a table and a small wait. It’s got a great atmosphere and has local fresh food.
I had the banana leaf fish and then we enjoyed it so much we went back a few days later for dinner I had the ceviche to share and chicken curry which were both amazing! My partner had the curries both times and the chocolate cake and loved it, definitely would recommend.

Stopped for lunch after hiking Le Morne and feel so fortunate to have stumbled across this place! We had a really enjoyable meal - I had the tofu with nice, my husband had the fried rice. The staff were really friendly and attentive, even when they got really busy as the lunch period went on. Would definitely recommend coming here, especially with there being so many hotel eateries everywhere!

While looking for a place to eat near the resort, I came across a place with good reviews and had dinner there.

The price was average but the service was worst.
- I called another black server all 3 times, but they just told me to keep waiting and did not take my order. I felt like I was being racially discriminated against.

The food was okay too. I ate grilled fish in banana leaves and it smelled unpleasant.

Had lunch there last night, the spicy pineapple mojito was amazing, would definitely recommend it. Unfortunately, in terms of food, we tried the fish and chicken curries, and they were not good for our taste. Nice personnel, and atmosphere, that’s a plus, but strictly for the food, I wouldn’t recommend it.

The food was okay overall, but the chicken curry was disappointing. The chicken came in large pieces with bones and cartilage, and the meat was and tasteless like it had been used for broth before. The sauce didn’t taste like classic curry, rather tomato sauce, though maybe that was intentional. The papaya salad also had very little flavor and was extremely spicy, even for someone who enjoys spicy food. Prices were standard for a tourist area on Mauritius. Given the limited restaurant options, it still may be the best you can get nearby.

I’ve traveled to Mauritius for now 25 years every winter. And one thing I can tell you, the food & service at Wapalapam is incredible! I always stay at 5 star hotel right next to it & food is way better at Wapalapam as in the hotel.. in my last 14 days on the island I’ve probably been there 8x times, it’s just incredibly good food & service is top notch! I can literally only recommend this place! Great job & thank you for everything!

They may be monopolists, but the guys keep the bar! We went to them every time and it was always delicious and fast!
Great tuna, in any form.
Unreal seafood soup.
Of course, it’s a little expensive, but the portions are large, and everything is made from quality ingredients. Always fresh fish!
P.S. For dinner it is better to make a reservation, they accept euros.

One of the few evening clubs in the Le Morne area, we were passing through after watching the sunset on the beach and they let us sit even though we hadn't booked. We ordered a curry with prawns and aubergines, a fish cooked in banana leaves and some cassava chips. All the dishes were excellent but above all we were served with a smile by all the waiters who do an excellent job. To close the meal, an excellent coconut and chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream, mouth-watering. I absolutely recommend this place if you are in the area!

We are very happy with this restaurant.

We sleep at paradise beachcomber and we go to eat at wapalapam almost every evening.
A varied cuisine and everything is very good.

Our 3rd visit to this great restaurant and it was amazing each time. Great service and fresh, delicious food. Dessert was heavenly, a flourless chocolate cake with coconut ice cream. My favorite main is the steamed coconut, lime fish in a banana leaf. Compliments to the chef!

We found this place in our first visit in Mauritius 5 years ago. The food was and still is amazing. What you get for the price is above expectations. Every single dish is unique, great in taste and presentation. It’s even hard to give a highlight. Tuna sashimi excellent, chili chicken is so tender, curries and woks are full of flavors. In one word, delicious! The staff and atmosphere are brilliant!

Very delicious and unique dishes!
It is a bit more expensive but worth it as it is nothing compared to anything else you can get on the island. I can recommend the Tropical Salad with Pineapple, Chili Prawns, Egg fried Rice and the Manioc Fries. Besides that the staff was also very friendly. You should definitely make a stop there!

Honestly the best meal I've had on the island. I've been here for 3 weeks and traveling around and definitely the best. I had the spicy pineapple mojito, sashimi and prawn and eggplant curry. Absolutely delicious!

Delicious food! Super very good drinks. Fair price, slightly more expensive than typical local ones, but also offers much higher quality.

Above all, the staff is really super friendly in a refreshingly natural way!

The only thing that bothered me. You don't need to offer water from Europe from a large corporation... I would like to see a general rethink in the catering industry

But that didn't diminish the enjoyment and the super positive experience.

Very chilled restaurant with a nice outdoor space. Ate here as our accommodation was just next door. Our server David was very prompt and friendly despite it being fairly busy. Food was also very well prepared. We were particularly pleased with the catch of the day and the fish in banana leaf. Highly recommend this place for seafood.

The worse experience ever in Le Morne! The food is below average, staff arrogant and the manager rude and dismissive to his customers! Very chauvinistic and agrresive when he spoke to me as a female ! Don't waste your time or money on this place. Far better on thr island.

Reservation at 8:45 p.m., we arrived at 9 p.m., the restaurant closes at 10 p.m.
We were not accepted because the kitchens closed at 9 p.m., not very professional, not accommodating or perhaps just being lazy?
Especially since dishes were still coming out of the kitchen, people were still placing orders when we were there...
We went to eat at La Gaulette at Aloha, much more welcoming, smiles on our faces to see us arrive even at 9:15 p.m.

Right at the foot of the Brabant: Cool decor, relaxed atmosphere, chilled drinks, very tasty dishes (fish, seafood and meat), great breakfast and really nice/humorous staff. Our place to be in le Morne; We had breakfast/eat here probably 20 times during our three-week vacation and were never disappointed. Many thanks to David, Frenzi, Julie and the whole Wapalapam team for the brilliant service!

Without a doubt, this was the pinnacle of culinary experiences on the island. Cocktails were simply exquisite; an impressive work of art esp. their own signature twists on the old classics. We only had some starters as nibbles and every single one tasted lovely. Staff were incredibly friendly and service was prompt.

We were a little disappointed with the food here. The seared tuna was bland and tasteless. I had the chicken curry, which was fine. It could have done with a bit more spice and I chomped on a big bit of gristle - not great. Luckily, I ordered the spicy pineapple mojito, which was very hot and spicy - it went well with the curry. Not very good value for money.

Good quality food, enjoyed my fish curry very much, the fried squid starter was beautiful cooked. Grilled fish for the day equally delicious. Ate outside and enjoyed the sunshine with a nice cool draft beer. Friendly service and had a spicy shot on the house from bar tender. Limited parking. Definitely recommend.

This place is truly exceptional. We really had a seafood feast there, one of the best meals my family and I have had in years. The seafood platter, including lobster and crab, was a culinary experience of the highest quality in terms of freshness and taste. So were the starters --ceviche, squid, chili prawns-- and the desserts. Service and atmosphere were also great. If you want to taste good, fresh Mauritian food while you're here, this place is a must.

I took a seafood pasta and the seafood was very generous, got king prawns, fish and mussles. Very tasty and the quantity is just right. The flourless chocolate cake was a WOW. Plus we had a table next to the ice creams, it was mouthwatering and we got one. Service is "mari" nice, kudos to the waiter who welcomed us warmly and checked on us without invading the space.
Bonus : the cat scratched me because I wanted to play. I gave it some pieces of fish though.

Our favorite restaurant on Mauritius. Went 5 days in a row, tried a variety of dishes. All great. Fish, all curries, the spicy shrimps, the chocolate cake and ice cream. Super tasty, nice service.

Very good food. We went here for 2 nights and both dinners were the best we had during our stay at Le Morne. We had Sashimi tuna, white fish ceviche, calamari, catch of the day (snapper), seared yellow fin tuna and desserts. All good and plenty of food. They also have a good selection of wines. Will definitely go back.
(4 stars is a good score from me.)

Lovely experience in this very popular spot! The food is very tasty, the service is impeccable and there is easy parking right in front of the restaurant. They have some of the most colorful and delicious cocktails ever and some shrimp entrees that will reconsider all shrimps you've ever had. It is a bit pricy for a restaurant that is not within a hotel, but totally worth it.
I would definitely recommend this place while around Le Morne.

Really liked the food there. Had tuna sashimi salad which was very fresh and the radish strops went perfectly with the fish. Then sea bass in banana leaf which was so delicious. The portion was good. The atmosphere was nice. I just regret not being able to eat more!

This is by all means a must-visit-place, while around: the meals are absolutely delicious, staff is fast and attentive. Can be crowded on weekends, a reservation is probably a good idea. Even without one though, they'll make every effort to seat you. Don't get scared by the slightly higher prices, it's worth all the money. An easy 5/5 for me.
